Catrin Stewart cast as "Jenny" in Doctor Who

Catrin Stewart, a relatively new up and coming actress, has been cast in Season 6, Episode 7 of Doctor Who which is the mid-season finale this spring. The interesting thing is that she has been cast as "Jenny".

This is not labeled as a spoiler because all that is confirmed is a character name. Everything past that is my own personal speculation. Read further at own risk.

It has not been confirmed but this could be the much anticipated return of Jenny, the Doctor's daughter from Season 4.
Georgina Moffet, the actress who played Jenny in "The Doctor's Daughter", is due to give birth very soon so this could be a recasting due to her not being available or a regeneration for the character who was technically a Timelord.

At the end of "The Doctor's Daughter" Jenny is shot and thought to be killed although we see her in the closing moments awaken and run off to experience her own adventures. We know that a Timelord can use the
residual regeneration energy to regrow limbs or in this case, heal. The Doctor states this is a possibility for the first 24 hours (Christmas Invasion) and Jenny was definitely within that time of her being "born".

Again, this is just speculation. But fans have wanted the return of Jenny since she left and it was Steven Moffat's idea to have her return to life at the end of the episode. Could he be bringing her back? Mid-season finale seem like a good a place as any to do it!

  1. I hope it is Jenny, though I'll be sad if Georgia isn't her! I'd love for this to be the Doctor's regenerated daughter, or if not, to have him reflect on her at least!

  2. I have been hoping for AGES that Jenny will come back! and while she is not Georgia, you've got to admit there is quite a strong resemblance!

  3. I doubt Georgia will return as Jenny, because she is now engaged (married?) to DAVID TENNANT! and they have a baby :D BUT I loved Jenny and I hope she returns.

  4. I really liked Catrin Stewart's character in A GOod Man Goes To War.

But touching upon Georgia, I don't see why her being with David Tennant would stop her from being on the show in the future.
