Disney releases a new poster and "new" trailer for The Lion King at The Oscars.
Fans are beginning to get real excited for the live action adaptation of Disney's The Lion King. Today, Disney released a brand new poster featuring Mufasa and Simba (seen above) as well as a "new" trailer for the film. I say "new" because ... well it's not. This new trailer is actually shorter than the teaser trailer released in November and essentially shows the exact same footage. The only pieces of new footage are hearing a line spoken by Rafiki and seeing baby Simba sneeze, which is really cute.
"Director Jon Favreau’s all-new “The Lion King” journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his."
The Lion King will be in theaters on July 19, 2019.

This trailers been out for months, its not new.....
ReplyDeleteAs noted in the article, it is mostly the same but is not the same trailer that was released in November. This has a new voice over narration from Rafiki and shows Simba sneezing. Nothing to be excited about but technically is a new trailer officially from Disney.
