First trailer for Netflix's Carmen Sandiego reveals a big change for the classic character's story.

The first trailer for Netflix's adaptation of Carmen Sandiego has been released and although the art style is cool fans may have some problems with the big twist that they have tossed into the story.

"Everybody asks "WHERE is Carmen Sandiego?", but nobody asks "WHO is Carmen Sandiego?" The iconic woman in red returns for new international capers and a peek into her past. Featuring Gina Rodriguez as Carmen and Finn Wolfhard as Player"
This new series will focus on Carmen's origins as she goes through the V.I.L.E Training Academy for thieves. The big twist comes in when Carmen decides that she doesn't like the motives of V.I.L.E and she decides to steal precious artifacts before V.I.L.E can get their hands on them to keep them safe. This essentially turns Carmen into a good guy of sorts and that's just not in line with the original Carmen Sandiego. Netflix may not want to have promoted a villain but I see nothing wrong with that. Carmen is a great character that should not be changed in this way. It is fine for kids to like a villain in a show. (All the adults do!)

Carmen Sandiego will stream on Netflix on January 18, 2019.
