Batman Beyond may be coming to theaters as Warner Bros reportedly develops an animated film for the futuristic Batman.

Big news, Batman fans! It is being reported that Warner Bros. is developing a new animated film for Batman Beyond! Batman Beyond was immensely popular with DC fans. Airing from 1999-2001, this show was a direct sequel series to Batman: The Animated Series. The series took place in the not so distant future where Bruce Wayne has given up the mantle of Batman due to old age and soon hands the title down to Terry McGinnis after he discovers Bruce's secret life.

Though there are no solid details on the film just yet it looks like Warner Bros. is looking to begin production in 2020 with a release date in 2022. Two images leaked online that sparked the word of the development which can be seen below. They depict concept art revealing a possible look for Terry McGinnis and the Batman Beyond suit and Terry in the Batcave looking at original suits for Batman, Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing.

If this film moves forward I will be SO excited. The Batman Beyond series was amazing and I would love to see it come to the big screen. With the success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, this is the perfect time to look at this franchise.
