Disney announces a new Star Wars television show centered on Rogue One's Cassian Andor.

It's time to go back to a galaxy far, far away and this time around we'll be saying hello to a character that we've already said bye to. Disney CEO, Bob Iger, announced today that Lucasfilm will be developing a new television series for Disney's streaming service that will be centered around Rogue One's Cassian Andor. What's even better is that actor Diego Luna will be coming back to reprise the role! There is still no word if we'll see Cassian's droid partner, K2-SO, in the series but if we do hopefully Alan Tudyk will return to voice the droid again. Given how Rogue One ends, this upcoming series will obviously be a prequel to that film.

This new series will be a spy thriller that "will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire." While speaking about the series, Luna stated;
"“Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me. I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”"
Are you excited to see Cassian Andor return and have the character be developed further? What kinds of missions do you think the Rebel Alliance will be sending him on?

At the moment there is no release date set for this series.
