Tom Hardy confirms which Venom comics will inspire the upcoming film's story.
Some really cool news has finally surfaced about the upcoming Venom film starring Tom Hardy as the title character. While talking at Comic Con Experience 2017 in Sao Paulo, Brazil Hardy shared the news that the film will be inspired by the 1993 David Michelinie miniseries "Venom: Lethal Protector" and will be set in San Francisco like the comics.
Venom: Lethal Protector sees Spider-Man and Venom making a truce as Venom leaves New York and heads west to San Francisco. While in San Francisco, Venom is hunted down by an organization who wants to study the Venom symbiote and use it for their own purposes. Later they create a batch of new symbiotes which included Scream, Riot, Phage, Lasher, and Agony.
There is no indication just yet that we'll see the new symbiotes in this film but time will tell. Are you excited to find out that the film will be inspired by "Lethal Protectors"?
Venom is set to be released in theaters on October 5, 2018.
