Lucasfilm releases a short production announcement video for Star Wars: Episode VIII along with casting news.

Disney and Lucasfilm have officially released an announcement video that shows that production has begun on Star Wars: Episode VIII. This short video features Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) on the cliffside of Luke's hiding location from The Force Awakens.

Also, there is a small bit of casting news as Comic Book Movie is reporting that Benicio Del Toro (Guardians of the Galaxy), Laura Dern (Jurassic Park), and Kelly Marie Tran (Untouchable) have joined the cast.



Star Wars: Episode VIII will be in theaters on December 15, 2017.
