Star Wars: Episode VIII is pushed back to a new holiday release date.

Reset those countdown clocks, Star Wars fans. It looks like the wait for Star Wars: Episode VIII just got a little bit longer. Once slated for a May 6, 2017 release date, the film will now be hitting theaters on December 15th, 2017.

Disney Studios stated that because of the recording breaking box office number this past December for The Force Awakens, that they wanted to have the next film have the same opportunity that The Force Awakens did.

It may be a long way off but knowing that we'll have to wait another seven months is pretty rough.
