Nintendo World in NYC will be closed, remodeled, and rebranded as "Nintendo NY".
Very big news was revealed today for Nintendo gamers in the New York City area. Nintendo World, the iconic gaming stop for all Nintendo gamers for the last 10 years will be closing its doors from January 19 - February 19, 2016 as it goes through a major remodel. Not only that, the store will no longer be named "Nintendo World". The store is being rebranded as "Nintendo NY" which makes you wonder if Nintendo will be opening another location in the near future.

"New changes include a revamped interior design, complete with a 15-foot screen for gaming and new demo stations for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. A large decorative bronze coin brandishing the store’s tagline “Where everyone comes to play” will greet newcomers and returning visitors at the entrance."
Speaking about the renovation and remodeling, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing Scott Moffitt stated,
"“Nintendo is constantly evolving its experiences for fans. The new Nintendo NY store is a must-see location for anyone that has a memory of Nintendo, or who wants to see what Nintendo has in store for the future.”"During the store's re-opening weekend there will be fun activities and some giveaways as well. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet Mario and Luigi and take a photo with them as well. Stay tuned to the store's Twitter page for exact details as the date approaches. I'll definitely be there for the re-opening as it should be a really fun weekend of events!
