Dark Disney: The real stories behind popular Disney films.

There are hundreds of millions of Disney fans all over the world. This is in part due to Disney's amazing stories. The company has a true calling for taking classic fairy tales and turning them into animated adventures that the whole family can enjoy. However, not all fans know the dark truth behind the original fairy tales that Disney is portraying. Although some Disney films have darker tones already, they do not come close to the original tales.

"Anyone who grew up with Disney movies knows that they can get pretty dark, from Mufasa getting trampled to death in The Lion King to Quasimodo's mother being brutally killed in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Still, many of Disney's animated classics have had to soften or remove the more gruesome or depressing aspects of the fairy tales that they were based on."
