Jenna Coleman confirms she is leaving Doctor Who after season 9.
Early this morning, Jenna Coleman appeared on a Radio 1 talk show in England and confirmed a recent rumor concerning her role on the hit British sci-fi show Doctor Who. While talking to the host, Nick Grimshaw, Jenna confirmed that she is indeed leaving Doctor Who after season 9.
""It's been in the works for a very long time," she said, "[Writer] Steven [Moffat] and I sat down a year and a half ago and tried to work out the best place to do it and tell a really good story.
"We're not going to give any details but it will happen at some point this season... We worked out a really good story arc out so hopefully people will love it.""
By the looks of it, there is the possibility that Jenna could be leaving mid-season. We have seen companions do this before and it's how she came on to the TARDIS after all.
Jenna will be leaving Doctor Who to play the character of Quenn Victoria in a new show titled Victoria that tells the story of a young Victoria as she ascends to the throne and starts her long reign as queen.
Jenna has been traveling inside the TARDIS as Clara Oswald since 2012 and has made an impact on the show and it's fans. Will you miss Jenna after this season? Do you think it was just time to have a new companion enter the TARDIS?
