Marvel confirms Spider-Man for Captain America: Civil War and that Marvel characters can cross over to Sony's Spider-Man!

Just one day after Marvel's announcement that actor Tom Holland has been cast as Spider-Man, it has been confirmed that Spider-Man will be making his film debut in Captain America: Civil War. Find out what Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige had to say.

It had been widely speculated that Spider-Man would make his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War, it was all still just rumor and speculation. Until now. The Hollywood reporter is reporting that Tom Holland will be reporting to the set of Civil War to start shooting immediately.

"Holland will report immediately to the set of the currently shooting Captain America: Civil War, which Marvel has scheduled for a May 6, 2016, release and in which the newest Spider-Man will make his first onscreen appearance."
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige then confirms the possibility that Marvel character could cross over into Sony's Spider-Man films. Although we do not know which characters will cross over there is no doubt in my mind that it will happen. This continued crossover plan will solidify the fact that Spider-Man is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and even though he is in his own stand alone film with Sony that the universe is still connected.
"After Civil War, how much will Marvel be involved in Sony's Spider-Man movie?
FEIGE Well, we're producing it for Sony. It's exciting, and we're treating it like we treat all of our films. To try to make the best version now of Spider-Man and a version of Spider-Man that inhabits this universe that we've created. We're in lockstep with [Sony Motion Picture Group chairman] Tom Rothman and [producer] Amy Pascal at every turn.
So some of your Marvel characters will show up in the Sony Spider-Man movies?
FEIGE Specifics of the story aside, the agreement that has been made between Sony and Marvel is that we could do that.
Do you risk giving up any of your autonomy by working with Sony?
FEIGE Without getting into the contracts, it's definitely a Sony picture, produced by Marvel Studios. We've been working with each other for a number of months now. It's been just as healthy as any of our internal discussions. We just look at it as having additional team members. We wouldn't want to do it if we couldn't do it in the way we've done all the other movies, and I think that's what Sony wants from us."

Both of these news pieces are very exciting and I cannot wait. I am a huge Spider-Man so I am excited to see how Marvel handles him and what his suit will look like in Civil War. Are you excited to see Spider-Man enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Captain America: Civil War will be in theaters on May 6, 2016.
"Spider-Man" is currently set to be in theaters on July 28, 2017.
