John Williams leaves Abbey Road and the London Symphony Orchestra to score Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Los Angeles!
Star Wars fans everywhere will be pleased to hear that legendary composer John Williams will be composing the score for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. However, this time around it will be a little different than when Williams scored the previous six films in the franchise.
In the past Williams always scored the films at Abbey Road in London, England with the London Symphony Orchestra. He did this for all six current Star Wars films. This time around however, it has been confirmed that Williams will be recording the score to The Force Awakens in Los Angeles, California. This will mark the first time a Star Wars score has been recorded in the United States. It is being reported that this move is happening because of an editing collaboration to get the film finished on time.
Williams shared some very kind words about working in both countries:
"“I’ve had the privilege of working with the very best musicians in both the U.K. and the U.S.,” says Williams. “The London Symphony Orchestra has consistently performed with great artistry on all six of the prior films in the Star Wars saga, and I will be forever grateful for their commitment and dedication. Equally, it has been my honor to have worked with my brilliant colleagues in Los Angeles, and always appreciate the invaluable contribution they’ve made to my scores and to those of other composers.”"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens will blasts into theaters December 18th (USA).
