Emma Watson is cast as Belle in the upcoming Disney film Beauty and the Beast!

Today it was revealed that actress Emma Watson will be starring in the Disney live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast!

Emma Watson may be best known for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films but since then she has grown into a successful actress and activist. Beauty and the Beast is currently under leadership from director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn). Rumors seem to have this adaptation having a darker tone than the upbeat and lively 1991 animated Disney Classic and I think that could be a great thing for the film.

I'm a big fan of Emma Watson's and believe her to be a wonderful actress but I am nervous that her casting may mean that Belle will not be French. Will Watson use a French accent or will the film put in some small changes to the character?
