Robert Downey Jr. is ready to sign on to Captain America 3!
Could this be true?! Variety is reporting that Robert Downey Jr. is in final negotiations to be a part of Marvel's Captain America 3 as Tony Stark/Iron Man!
We knew that Robert Downey Jr. would be appearing in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and Avengers 3 (2018) but this newest development for Captain America 3 (2016) is very surprising and pleasant news.
This casting of course has fans buzzing about the possibility of Marvel bringing in the comic storyline "Civil War" which makes a lot of sense.
The original "Civil War" series ran from 2006-2007 and was written by Mark Millar. It saw the creation of the Superhero Registration Act, which forced anyone with superhuman abilities to reveal their true identities to the U.S. government and then agree to act as a special forces type organization for the police. Iron Man supports this act while Captain America opposes it. From here the Marvel universe between widely split and the resulting battles had ramifications in the Marvel Universe for years.
Are you excited to see Iron Man make an appearance in the newest Captain America film? Do you think they will definitely be doing "Civil War" or will it be something different?
Captain America 3 is currently scheduled for a May 6, 2016 release.
