Marvel in negotiations with Benedict Cumberbatch for Doctor Strange role!

It seems after a long wait and many rumors that Marvel has found its sorcerer supreme!

Deadline is reporting that Marvel is about to enter negotiations with actor Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Star Trek Into Darkness) for the role of Doctor Strange.

This is not a done deal just yet and nothing has been signed but it seems that both sides are interested to make this happen and I would be surprised if it doesn't go through.

The character of Doctor Strange was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and first appeared in Strange Tales #110 in 1963. Steven Strange was at one time a brilliant neurosurgeon but after a bad car accident he lost the precision that he once had in his hands, a skill vital to his work. Strange then decides to go on a quest to regain his skills which leads him on the path to the mystical arts.

I personally am not that thrilled about this casting. I feel that Cumberbatch is at the moment a very overrated actor and is not the perfect fit for this role. I can only hope that his performance proves me wrong but only time will tell. Do you like the potential casting of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange? Would you rather have seen someone else cast? If so, who?
