The Giver releases a new full length trailer! [video]

An all new trailer has been released for the upcoming film The Giver and it certainly gives the film a new ray of hope for greatness. This new trailer gives the audience a a grander view of the story and atmosphere of the book. This trailer is certainly a step in the right direction for the film but some fans may feel that the step is a little too big. The trailer hints pretty heavily (or in some cases just flat out tells you) some of the books twists so that is a little unfortunate. But all the same I am quite excited for this film as I absolutely love the book.

Here is the film's synopsis:

"The haunting story of "The Giver" centers on Jonas, who lives in a seemingly ideal, if colorless, world of conformity and contentment. Not until he is given his life assignment as the Receiver of Memory does he begin to understand the dark, complex secrets behind his fragile community. The film is based on Lois Lowry's beloved young adult novel of the same name, which was the winner the 1994 Newbury Medal and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide."

The Giver will star Jeff Bridges, Brenton Thwaites, Meryl Streep, Alexander Skarsgard, Katie Holmes, Odeya Rush, Cameron Monaghan, and Taylor Swift.

The Giver will be in theaters on August 15, 2014.
