Watch the first extended trailer for Fox's new Batman show "Gotham"! [video]

Fox has just released the first official extended trailer for their upcoming Batman show Gotham and it looks pretty good. I have to say that it looks better than I expected. Gotham is an origin story for the entire city and takes place during a time that has been unexplored until now. Bruce Wayne is still a child and Detective Jim Gordan is just starting his career. As this trailer will show you, just because Batman is not around yet does not mean that the villains aren't. Watch as Penguin, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and The Riddler rise up from their small beginnings to become legendary villains in the DC Universe.

Above everything else this is going to be a cop show with hints of DC Comics thrown in to keep fans interested. I can see it progressing to be a really good show though. Lets just hope that Fox treats it right and gives it a chance. (And shows the episodes in the correct order! Something they always seem to struggle with.) Will you be tuning in to watch Gotham?
