Could Star Wars Rebels be connected to Star Wars: Episode VII?
Disney may be looking to create a more unified Star Wars universe now that it has officially gotten their projects underway.
Representatives from the website Movie Cricket were about to attend a Star Wars convention in England and had the opportunity to speak to actor John Morton who played Luke Skywalker's gunner Dak in Star Wars: Episode VI - The Empire Strikes Back as well as a body double for Boba Fett. The actor apparently had a lot to say about the upcoming show Star Wars Rebels and the film Star Wars: Episode VII.

“Rebels is the key. Rebels will provide the link to bring in the continuity from Clone Wars, the Original Trilogy and the Prequels to enable LucasFilm and Disney to tee-up ‘Episode VII’. If you want my informed opinion, it will enable ‘Episode VII’ to leapfrog over the whole trilogy."
"The key that is going to make this work is Rebels. Rebels will set up and point the direction for ‘Episode VII’."
"The characters they are creating in Rebels will be around in ‘Episode VII’."If it turns out that this news from John Morton is true then it is absolutely spectacular! It'll be really cool to see the Star Wars become connected. Movie Cricket also took a moment to speculate on some of the casting that we heard recently for Star Wars: Episode VII and who they could possibly be playing if characters from Star Wars Rebels will be in the film. Here's what they had to say.
"Further on this, with the characters being announced for Star Wars Rebels already – we can begin to speculate which of the announced Star Wars: Episode VII cast could play who in the new film.
Oscar Isaac will play Kanan – the cowboy Jedi. Could you imagine a better synopsis for the offspring of Han Solo and Leia Skywalker?
We also expect Andy Serkis to play Zeb – the muscles. With Andy Serkis confirmed to bring a motion captured character to the film, how about this muscles bound, gun-wielding big guy?"This sounds feasible to me with one change. Andy Serkis would make a great Zeb and I could see Isaac playing Kanan but he wouldn't be the offspring of Han and Leia since Rebels takes place before Han and Leia even met each other. What do you think about the show and film being connected and the possible casting connections?
