Scarlet Witch no longer in X-Men: Days of Future Past!

Empire Magazine caught up with director Bryan Singer and got some very interesting new concerning the character of Scarlet Witch in the upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past.

We won't be hearing anything from Bryan Singer during the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past press tour due to some damning sexual abuse allegations, but when Empire Magazine caught up with the director not too long ago, he shed some light on the role of Scarlet Witch in the movie. For a start, those of us who assumed that it was the little girl we saw talk for the first time in this TV spot were wrong. "Is that the Scarlet Witch? No, that's his little sister," Singer revealed. "I even had a line which I cut, where Quicksilver's mother says to the little girl, 'Go up and bug your sister,' and the little girl says, 'She bugs me!' You never see the older sister, but it was to imply that there is an older sister for comic bool fans. I ended up cutting it." Thanks Bryan. Anyway, many were under the impression that the little girl would be brought back as a teen in X-Men: Apocalypse, and while plans for Scarlet Witch in the X-Men franchise are still unknown, it does sound as if Evan Peters will return. "Even though our Quicksilver is not a main character like in The Avengers, it's a character there's a lot of thought and concern about and it's a character I'd like to explore further in the sequel." For now, it seems like we'll just have to rely on Avengers: Age of Ultron when it comes to seeing "The Twins" fighting side-by-side...

In a recent TV spot for the film we saw a little girl with Quicksilver speak who we assumed was the Scarlet Witch (his sister) but it appears that we were mistaken. Singer revealed who the little girl was and the fact that Scarlet Witch has been cut from the film. That's right! She has been cut from the film. Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of characters are having their roles cut or reduced as we get closer to the release date of this film?

This may come as a surprise to some fans while others may just shrug it off as another character getting the X-Men axe. It looks like if fans want to see Scarlet Witch on the big screen they'll have to wait until Avengers: Age of Ultron is released. How do you feel about Scarlet Witch being cut from the film?
