The Last of Us is officially heading to the big screen!

PlayStation gamers out there will be excited to know that a film adaptation of Naughty Dog's The Last of Us is officially in the works! Screen Gems will be teaming up with producer Sam Raimi to being the game to the big screen. Neil Druckmann, the Creative Director of the game, will be writing the script for the film. (Fans should be really excited at that aspect of the film!)

When talking to Deadline about the project, Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper commented that,
"Screen Gems’ Brian Dukes and Eric Ling brought this game to my attention insisting we go after it and when I saw the quality of the storytelling, I knew the audience for this project was far greater than just the gaming community and that Neil Druckmann must write the screenplay. I am thrilled that SCEA’s Riley Russell was able to get me in front of Neil and Evan Wells to plead my case. Sam and his team at Ghost House round out the perfect team to help realize Neil’s vision."
So what do you fans think? Are you excited that The Last of Us will be heading to the big screen? Is there anything from the game that you definitely want unchanged for the film? Or how about anything you'd like to see changed and possibly made better?
