Paul McGann returns to Doctor Who in the new mini episode The Night of the Doctor! [video]
The BBC has released the first minisode for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary and it is titled "The Night of the Doctor"! This new mini episode not only sees the return of the amazing Paul McGann to the role of the Doctor but it confirms the new name of John Hurt's Doctor. This episode will truly have you cheering.
"The Bringer of Darkness, the Oncoming Storm, the Doctor, the Warrior - A Time Lord! The 50th Anniversary features Matt Smith, David Tennant and a mysterious incarnation played by John Hurt. Only one appears in the mini episode, The Night of the Doctor. But which? 23.11.13 #SaveTheDay."
Enjoy!
WOW! I loved it!! I was so incredibly excited to see the return of Paul McGann! There is so much to talk about in this episode. Why was Cass so afraid and mistrusting of the Doctor when she realized he was a Timelord. What reputation did the Timelords create within the Time War? They just made all of McGann's audio books canon since he just named his companions from them which is fantastic! Next, we finally see his regeneration into the next Doctor which turns out to be John Hurt's Doctor like many had expected. However, John Hurt's Doctor is now named the "War Doctor". I suppose this also eliminates the theory that John Hurt was the Valeyard unless Moffat changes the Valeyard a little since he was initially created between the Doctor's twelfth and final regeneration. This episode was truly incredible. (And I wish I didn't have to run off to work so that I could type more!) Let me know what you thought of the episode in the comments and what your new theories are.
