Newly discovered painting by Vincent van Gogh looks like it has the TARDIS in the background!

Vincent van Gogh may have died in 1890 but he has made headlines for a "new" painting that was just discovered! The new painting was announced on Monday and identified by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. The painting is titled "Sunset at Montmajour". It is believed that the painting was completed in 1888, "two years before his death and during "a period that is considered by many to be the culmination of his artistic achievement". The painting itself is beautiful.
"The picture depicts a landscape in the vicinity of Arles in the south of France, where van Gogh was working at that time, the museum said."

Now this is where the interesting bit comes in. Take a closer look on the left side of the painting on the horizon. You can clearly see some sort of blue box. There is a popular Doctor Who episode from 2010 titled "Vincent and the Doctor" where the Doctor (played by Matt Smith) and his companion Amy (Karen Gillan) visit the Dutch artist and help him defeat an alien known as a Krafayis. Amy also influenced the creation of the famous painting "Vase with 12 Sunflowers" which in the present bared the inscription, "For Amy". Vincent even takes a trip in the TARDIS to the present day to see his works of art on display at the Musée d'Orsay (located in Paris, France).

With all this going on in the Doctor Who universe, fans are now looking at this newly discovered painting, "Sunset at Montmajour", and saying that the blue box seen on the horizon to the left is the TARDIS. You have to admit that it actually does sort of look like the TARDIS. Take a close look and let me know what you think the mysterious blue box may be.

    1. HA. Yes, but as a fan of Doctor Who it is just fun to imagine the show entering the real world. Besides, nobody has proven that the TARDIS doesn't exist. haha.
