Amazing, action packed trailer for Space Pirate: Captain Harlock! [video]
I just came across this amazing trailer for Space Pirate: Captain Harlock and I was blown away. I admit that I am not too familiar with Captain Harlock but this upcoming CG movie may change that.
This film is being adapted from the 1978 Japanese manga series by Leiji Matsumoto. The series has since been turned into a television anime series and has had several features and a sequel. The script for Space Pirate: Captain Harlock was written by Harutoshi Fukui (Mobile Suit Gundam UC novels, live-action Bokoku no Aegis) and was directed by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed). The film will reflect on the themes of modern society.
The film will follow Captain Harlock as he fights for humanity against an alien race looking to reclaim Earth. Harlock is not alone however. He fights with his crew members aboard the invincible space battleship, Arcadia.
Space Pirate: Captain Harlock will be released in Japan this fall. At the moment there is no word on a Western release here in the US.
