The CW's Arrow picks up another Doctor Who alum!

Doctor Who fans were excited when they found out that John Barrowman had been cast on the CW's new show Arrow. Now, as another Doctor Who alum heads over to play a role in the DC universe, they have another reason to cheer.

*Possible Spoilers Ahead*

Actress Alex Kingston, known for her role as River Song on Doctor Who and Dr. Elizabeth Corday on ER, has been cast on Arrow as Dinah Lance (Laurel's mother). Right now it is not known what kind of affect this character will have on the show but it is known that Kingston has signed on to appear in several episodes.

Fans will remember that in the comics that Dinah was the first one to carry the name of Black Canary before passing the name down to her daughter Dinah "Laurel" Lance. This could mean that Black Canary may be making her true debut sometime soon on the show. What do you think?

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. E.T. on The CW.
