GLaDOS voice from Portal confirmed in Pacific Rim!

Fans of the video game Portal all cried out in celebration when they first saw the Pacific Rim trailer by director Guillermo del Toro. Although fans weren't sure if it actually was, the computer voice heard in the trailer sounded exactly like the character GLaDOS from the Portal games. Well, the truth is out and it confirms the fact that it is GLaDOS from Portal!

Del Toro, who is a fan of the game, had hired voice actor Ellen McLain (voice of GLaDOS in Portal) for Pacific Rim but it was not revealed what she would be doing for the film. Forbes has come forward and confirmed that McLain was hired to be the computer voice for the movie but even more impressive is that she is doing the same exact voice in the movie as she did for GLaDOS. Del Toro even ran the voice through nearly the same alteration process as Portal so that it would sound identical to the game.

How do you feel about GLaDOS' voice being in the film? Do you think it may distract fans when they hear her or will this just be an awesome part of the movie that fans will love.
