The Hobbit's second installment gets a new title while the third gets a release date!

Now that news the news that The Hobbit will officially be a trilogy is out fans have been anxiously awaiting the third film's title and release date. Well fans, the wait is now over!

The titles have been swapped a bit. The first film will be The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The second film will now be titled The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Lastly, the third film will be titled The Hobbit: There and Back Again and will be released on July 18, 2014.

"Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman said, “We wanted to have a shorter gap between the second and third films. Opening in July affords us not only the perfect summer tentpole, but fans will have less time to wait for the finale of this epic adventure.”"
