The Doctor Packs Heat and Goes Gangster

A preconceived notion that a lot of new Doctor Who fans have is that the Doctor is someone who does not like guns and will never use one to fight his enemies. I can only assume that this assumption is in place because they have gotten to know the show through David Tennant's incarnation of the Doctor. It is very true that the Tenth Doctor was against guns and would not use one. Which is why it made such an outstanding impact when he pointed the gun at General Cobb in 'The Doctor's Daughter' after Jenny was shot or when he grabbed Wilfred's gun upon hearing that the Timelords were returning in 'The End of Time - Part 2'.

However, this is a trait of the Tenth Doctor, not all Doctors. We've seen the Doctor take up arms on many occasions. We've even seen the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) take arms against the lone Dalek in Season 1 in the episode entitled 'Dalek'. If you don't think you can recall the Doctor packing some heat then watch the following video of Doctors 2-6 getting gangster and putting down whoever steps in their way. Be sure to watch how the Fourth Doctor takes the guy down in the closing second. If that doesn't give you gangster status I don't know what does.
