Get ready to return to Panem as a new The Hunger Games prequel book is announced for author Suzanne Collins.

In a surprise announcement, it was revealed by Scholastic Books that a new prequel story to The Hunger Games is being written by author Suzanne Collins! This new book is currently set to hit store shelves on May 19, 2020 and I am extremely excited.

This new story will bring fans back to Panem and will be set 64 years before the famous story of Katniss Everdeen volunteering as tribute for District 12 in the original Hunger Games story.

Commenting on the return of Panem, author Suzanne Collins stated,
"With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival. The reconstruction period ten years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days—as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet—provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity."

Are you excited to return to Panem? Are you ready to explore a world torn by war as it tries to rebuild itself and it's society?
