The new trailer for Sony's Brightburn looks like a horror version of a Superman origin film.

Sony has released the second trailer for their upcoming film Brightburn and it's ... interesting. After watching the original teaser fans were all commenting the same thing. Now, after watching this new trailer they are all screaming the same thing. This film is clearly influenced by the origin story of Clark Kent, aka Superman. The big change here is that instead of Clark being a well behaved young man who learns to control and hide his abilities, this film features an alien boy who crash lands on Earth, is taken in by a nice couple, and unleashes his abilities in horrific ways. Essentially, this is a horror version of Superman. Or maybe even a story of "Bizarro Superman". This isn't necessarily a bad thing. The film looks really cool. It's just a lot of similarities between the two properties.

Brightburn will be in theaters in May of 2019.
