Announcement trailer reveals a full 3D remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo surprised fans during their Nintendo Direct today by revealing that they will get to revisit the island of Koholint from the 1993 classic Game Boy game, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. An announcement trailer was shown during the Direct that recreated the famous opening sequence of the game and revealed an all new art style for the series. The game retains the top down camera but is fully realized in full 3D animation.

"Originally released for the Game Boy™ system more than 25 years ago, one of the most beloved games in the Legend of Zelda series returns. In this modern re-imagining, players once again return to the mysterious island of Koholint to guide Link on a perilous adventure. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening arrives exclusively on Nintendo Switch in 2019."
