Henry Cavill looks to a brighter future as he exits the role of Superman.

In a surprise move, it is being reported that actor Henry Cavill is stepping away from his role of Superman in the DCEU (DC Extended Universe). This came to a huge shock to fans but then again when you look at what he was working with you cannot blame him. He had one leading role and two extended cameo films that were plagued with awful writing.
"Warners had been trying to enlist Cavill, who most recently co-starred in Mission: Impossible — Fallout, for a Superman cameo in Shazam!, which stars Zachary Levi and will bow April 5. But contract talks between Cavill's WME reps and Warners broke down, and the door is now closing on other potential Superman appearances.
That's because the studio has shifted its focus to a Supergirl movie, which will be an origin story featuring a teen superheroine. This effectively removes an actor of Cavill's age from the storyline's equation given that Superman, aka Kal-El, would be an infant, according to DC lore."
It was recently announced that Cavill has signed on to star in the upcoming Netflix series The Witcher based on the hit video game series but it is unclear where his signing with Netflix falls in the timeline of these events.

What are your thoughts on Henry Cavill exiting the DC films? Think this was a smart move for him in the long run?
