Fans have their first up close look at a sea dragon from the upcoming Aquaman film.

Director James Wan has an answer on how to fix one of the things that Aquaman used to be mocked for by fans. Above you can see a screenshot from the 1970's Super Friends cartoon where Aquaman is riding a seahorse.

Below you can see the updated "sea dragon" that will be ridden by the Xebel people whom are one of the seven underwater kingdoms of Atlantis. The Xebel are led by their king, Nereus (Dolph Lundgren) and defended by one of their best warriors, Mera (Amber Heard).

Speaking about the new sea dragon, producer Peter Safran stated,
"“The idea was to turn on its head the idea of Aquaman riding a seahorse, take something for which he was mocked and turn it into something terrifying and impressive. He’s a Xebellian creature but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Arthur (Jason Momoa) on one at some point…”"
Sounds like we'll be seeing Aquaman ride one of these creatures at some point in the film. What do you think of the new sea dragon and their look?

Aquaman will be in theaters on December 21, 2018.
