Lucasfilm announces the next Star Wars animated show - Star Wars Resistance.

With Star Wars Rebels over Lucasfilm has announced the new show that will be filling the void it leaves behind. The upcoming animated show will be titled Star Wars Resistance and will take place in the era of The Force Awakens. The show will revolve around a character named Kazuda Xiono who is described as a young pilot who is recruited by the Resistance whose mission is to spy on The First Order which has become a growing threat. Both Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie will provide their voices for the show and will reprise their roles of Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma respectively. Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) is the creator of this new series and while talking about it stated,
"The idea for Star Wars Resistance came out of my interest in World War II aircraft and fighter pilots. My grandfather was a pilot and my uncle flew and restored planes, so that’s been a big influence on me. There’s a long history of high-speed racing in Star Wars, and I think we’ve captured that sense of excitement in an anime-inspired style, which is something the entire team has been wanting to do for a long time."
I'm excited to see what this new show will bring to the Star Wars universe and what kinds of exciting stories Dave Filoni has in store for fans. There is no release date set yet for the show but I will keep everyone updated as soon as that information is made available.
