Get a sneak peek at the animated film Batman: Gotham by Gaslight.

If there is one thing DC gets right it is their animated film and they are ready to give fans another. A sneak peek as been released for the upcoming film Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. This new animated film is based on Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola's 1989 Victorian era Batman comic. This sneak peek goes behind the scenes and shows off some great clips in an eight minute video. The story is set in the 1800s and it has Batman going up against Jack the Ripper, the legendary serial killer from England.

"Gotham by Gaslight is a DC Comics one-shot by Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola, with inks by P. Craig Russell. It spawned a sequel, Master of the Future (1991), also written by Augustyn, but with drawings by Eduardo Barreto. 

Although not originally labeled as such, Gotham by Gaslight is considered to be the first Elseworlds story, where DC Comics heroes are taken out of their usual setting and put into alternate timelines or realities. Subsequent printings have included the "Elseworlds" logo."
