Sony reveals the name and logo for their upcoming Spider-Man film; Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Sony officially revealed the name and logo for their upcoming stand-alone Spider-Man movie at CinemaCon in Las Vegas yesterday. Starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man, the new film will be titled Spider-Man: Homecoming.
This is a unique title that can be viewed a few different ways. Of course "Homecoming" may apply to the high school event since this Peter Parker / Spider-Man is said to be about 16 and will of course still be in high school. However, this title also has meaning in that this is Spider-Man's long awaited homecoming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he belongs. I also think it is very interesting, and most likely part of the Sony / Marvel deal, that the Marvel logo is shown above the film logo here showing the connection to Marvel Studios. The overall look is great. It feels reminiscent of older comics and I love the Spidey face logo in place of the 'o' in Homecoming.
What do you think of this new name? What villain would you love to see in the film?
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be in theaters on July 7, 2017.
