Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy officially announce their break up!

A new celebrity split has just been announced and it is rocking Hollywood! Announced on the Television Critics Association summer press tour while promoting their new show, ABC’s The Muppets, it appears as though Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy are officially split up.

You got hints that things were bad during The Muppets trailer and 10 minute first look but this is the first official news on the matter. Below you can read both of their public statements concerning their split.

Word has it that Kermit has already moved on to another pig named Denise who works for ABC in their marketing department. (Also seen in the 10 minute first look.) Did you see this split between the two stars coming? Do you think things will remain civil between them on their new show?

The Muppets will premiere on ABC on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 8PM ET.
