Rocket Raccoon looks to blow stuff up in the first promo video for Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Disney XD.

Get ready to explode into adventure with Disney XD's first promotional video for the upcoming cartoon Guardians of the Galaxy! See the team in action in the promo video inside the full article.

This upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon will not be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe but as you can see in the video it will have some references to their film. For example, the promo video's narration is a take on a quote from the end of the film. The Guardians have some solid characters and the animation looks pretty good. I am excited to see what Disney and Marvel can do with this show.

Show synopsis:

"Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy follows the newly-formed team who finds a strange artifact keyed only to the DNA of Peter Quill. Upon opening it, Quill unleashes a treasure map leading to a powerful weapon known as the Cosmic Seed which is capable of giving birth to the next universe. It’s up to the Guardians to find, protect and ultimately destroy the Cosmic Seed in order to keep it out of the hands of those who would abuse its power, from galactic big boss Thanos, to the conniving brothers the Collector and the Grandmaster, to a resurrected Ronan, to the ultimate trickster, Loki, in order to save the universe."

Guardians of the Galaxy will premiere on Disney XD on September 26, 2015 but keep an eye out for character shorts starting August 1, 2015. The schedule of shorts can be found here.
