Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata, passes away at age 55. May he R.I.P.
It is with great sadness that I am reporting the passing of Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata.
Nintendo's Press Release states that Iwata passed on July 11, 2015 due to a bile duct growth. Iwata was 55 years old.
Iwata joined Nintendo in the 1980's as a programmer working on video game titles such as Balloon Fight and Earthbound. In 2002 he became the President of Nintendo and then became in the CEO in 2013. He also worked in supportives roles on games like The Legend of Zelda, Mario, and Animal Crossing.
Satoru Iwata was an industry icon that will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata.
