J.K. Rowling announces a new London based Harry Potter play - Harry Potter and the Cursed Child!
Today marks a very special day for Harry Potter fans everwhere. First, it is the 18th Anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (also known as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone). Second, it was announced today by J.K. Rowling herself that there will be a new play based on Harry Potter titled "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" that will be put on in London!
Find out what Rowling revealed about the play inside the full article!
If you are like me you are very excited right now! Thie confirmation from Rowling was made via her Twitter page early this morning and gives fans the title as well as a lot more information on it.
I'm also very excited to confirm today that a new play called Harry Potter and the #CursedChild will be opening in London next year.

This new play will be a collaboration between J.K. Rowling, writer Jack Thorne, and director John Tiffany. One thing Rowling was very clear about is that this play is not going to be a prequel to the books and that once fans have seen the play they should understand why she decided to turn this particular untold story about Harry into a play rather than a novel. Rowling stated it was "the only proper medium for the story."
At the moment there is no other information on the play regardling who will exactly be in it or what the story will be about but it is very exciting all the same. I am sure that Rowling will release more information soon via interviews and her Twitter account.
Are you happy to see a new Harry Potter play being released (even if it is only in London for the moment)? What kind of story would you want to be told in it?
