Jada Pinkett Smith will not be returning for Gotham's second season.

Fox's new Batman inspired show Gotham became an instant hit with DC fans due to the interesting story and the compelling characters. There's one character in particular however that was created specifically for the show that fans instantly loved; Fish Mooney played by actress Jada Pinkett Smith. Sad news has been released however that Fish Mooney will not be back for the show's second season.

While appearing on Live with Kelly and Michael, Smith revealed the news to her fans. When she was asked about her future with the show Smith replied,

"“I don’t think so, no. I signed for a year, and the year is up. But, there are some great things coming ahead on ‘Gotham’ — believe you me, there’s a lot of good stuff coming.”"

Fans will understandably be upset by this news and there is no current word as to what will be happening to her character. Smith expressed how much she loves playing and exploring the character and teased that fans may not have seen the last of her.

"She could show up anywhere, you never know!"
