Arrow's Stephen Amell is cast as Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2!

Stephen Amell has become popular with DC fans as Oliver Queen, aka the Arrow, in the hit CW show Arrow but it appears that he will now be swapping his bow and arrow for a hockey stick for his next role.

It has just been announced that Amell was cast in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel as the vigilante known as Casey Jones! Casey Jones was originally created by TMNT creator Kevin Eastman for a "Raphael" miniseries in 1985. He soon became an ally to the Turtles and the love interest to reporter April O'Neil. He famously wears a hockey mask and wields a hockey stick (as well as other sporting equipment) during his fights.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 has begun filming and Stephen Amell will join cast members Megan Fox (April O'Neil), Will Arnett (Vernon Fenwick), and newcomer and super model Alessandra Ambrosio who is being reported to play Will Arnet's new love interest in the film.

The sequel is said to be titled "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half Shell" but it has not yet been confirmed.

Amell is no stranger to the physical action that the role will require and I am really excited to see how he brings the character to life. I think he'll be great!
