The Last of Us film adaptation gets a poster and a possible lead actress!

It was previously announced that the hit PlayStation game The Last of Us would be getting a film adaptation but beyond that nothing had yet been known. Well a lot of news surfaced at San Diego Comic-Con including a promotional poster (which can be seen to the right).

Writing the film will be the video game writer Neil Druckmann while Sam Raimi takes on the job as producer. At this moment there is no director tied to the film.

Druckmann and Raimi revealed at Comic-Con that they already have a leading actress in mind for the character of Ellie and have already spoken to her concerning the role. The actress they are seeking out is Maisie Williams who is best known for her role as Arya Stark on the HBO show Game of Thrones. Williams is not yet signed on for this film but it's been made clear that she is the actress that Druckmann and Raimi want.
