Star Wars adds Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie to the Episode VII cast!

Lucasfilm made a big casting announcement today for Star Wars: Episode VII when they revealed that Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave) and Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones) have officially joined the cast!

When approached for a statement Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy stated,

"I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII. It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape."

At the moment there are no characters tied to these castings but if I had to take a hopeful guess I might say that Nyong'o would make a great Asajj Ventress. Having Ventress enter the films would be fantastic. For the moment however, we'll have to wait and see who they have been cast as.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be in theaters on December 18, 2015.
