George R.R. Martin reveals the full size of dragons in A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones!
Author George R.R. Martin has posted an excerpt from his upcoming companion
book to his bestselling Song of Ice and Fire novels. The companion book will be titled The World of Ice and Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the World of Game of Thrones. This new book will be a encyclopedia of the events and characters from the Seven Kingdoms and more. (This book is bound to be a big success to both new and old readers of the A Song and Ice and Fire novels.)
The interesting part of Martin's post is an illustration, which shows fans the character of Aegon riding his dragon Balerion the Black Dread. It has been revealed by Martin that this particular image shows you what a fully grown dragon looks like in his world. And it is massive! In the photo you can see Aegon on top of the dragon's lower neck near the wings. Now wouldn't it be something to see Daenerys Targaryen flying atop one of her dragons when they are this size?
