Marc Webb announces that B.J. Novak will play Alistair Smythe in The Amazing Spider-Man 2!

The release for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is soon approaching and director Marc Webb has just revealed another big comic character that will be in the film! Actor B.J. Novak (The Office) will be portraying Alistair Smythe.
This is a very interesting character to bring into an older packed film but it could be a lot of fun to see what the entrance of this character could mean to the storyline for the future of the franchise. At the moment it is unknown how large a role Novak will have in the film and whether the appearance of Alistair Smythe will just be a fun little Easter Egg for fans or if we could actually see him turn into the Ultimate Spider-Slayer along with his Spider-Man hunting robots, the Spider-Slayers in the next film. Right now there are so many characters being teased and introduced for the next film and the film's eventual spin-offs that its reasonable to suspect that at some point we will get to see the Ultimate Spider-Slayer.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will swing into theaters on May 2, 2014.
