Take a look at Peter Jackson and Ian McKellen on McKellen's last day as Gandalf on The Hobbit set!

Director Peter Jackson posted a new photo today to his Facebook page that featured himself and Ian McKellen dressed as Gandalf the Grey from the set of The Hobbit films. The sad thing about this photo is that this was taken seconds after they completed all of Gandalf's scenes with McKellen. Jackson captioned the photo by saying,

"Seconds ago we finished our last shot with Gandalf. The end of an incredible adventure that began in 1999. I'm feeling very sad right now."

It has been an incredible (almost) 15 years with McKellen playing the wise wizard Gandalf. Fans still have two more films to look forward to with McKellen but these very well may be the last that we see Gandalf. Thank you Sir Ian McKellen for an incredible journey that millions of fans will never forget. We look forward to see what brilliance you bring to the next two The Hobbit films!
