Fans were crushed when Disney axed the animated Star Wars: Clones Wars series. However, it seems that they won't have to wait too long before they get a new series. Disney and Lucas Film are already in development for a new series titled Star Wars Rebels.

The new show will debut on the Disney XD channel in the fall of 2014. What's more exciting is that this new series will bridge the gap between Episodes III and Episode IV.
"The action-filled series is set between the events of Episode III and IV -- an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. Details about the show are a closely guarded secret at this point."
This sounds like it will be incredibly fun to watch. Below you can watch an interview about the upcoming series with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: Clone Wars) who will be co-producing with Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Sherlock Holmes), Greg Weisman (Young Justice, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Gargoyles).
