Harry Potter star, David Bradley, cast as William Hartnell in Doctor Who's 'An Adventure in Space and Time'!
Doctor Who is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year and the BBC has big plans to celebrate all year long leading up to the actual anniversary in November.
One of the exciting specials that the BBC has been planning is a dramatized 'documentary' on how Doctor Who first got started in 1963 called An Adventure in Space and Time. The writing mind behind this special is Mark Gatiss (Doctor Who writer and lifelong fan).
The big announcement about this special however is that the BBC have announced who they have cast to play the original Doctor, William Hartnell! This was definitely not an easy cast but after what could have only been a long, in depth process the BBC have announced that they have hired actor David Bradley to take the role. Doctor Who fans will recognize Bradley from the Season 7 episode Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, but the rest of the world, especially Harry Potter fans, may recognize him as Argus Filch from the Harry Potter franchise.
Looking at Bradley and Hartnell side by side you can definitely see a resemblance between them. I was hesitant when I first heard the casting but after looking at them together and thinking about Bradley's acting skills, I think this could turn out great. Also, this could be promising news for a potential 11 Doctors story for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary! What do you think about this casting? And do you feel this could have any influence on a 11 Doctors story later in the year?
