Disney releases a teaser poster for Oz: The Great and Powerful

Disney has just released the first official teaser poster for the upcoming Oz: The Great and Powerful which will be directed by Sam Raimi. Raimi's visit to Oz will be a prequel that will follow the "wizard's" storyline and how he became known as "The Wizard of Oz".

Movie Synopsis:

"James Franco stars as Oscar Diggs in “Oz: The Great and Powerful.” The movie traces the character’s journey from a small-town circus magician in Kansas – some might say charlatan – to the great wizard of Oz.

After Oscar is transported to Oz, he meets three witches Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams) who suspect he is not the powerful wizard whose arrival has been foretold. As Oscar gets caught up in Oz's problems, he needs to transform himself into the great wizard the land needs...and into a better man."

The poster below teases the darker tone of the film while still showing us some iconic images such as the yellow brick road, the Emerald City, the wizard's hot air balloon, and the tornadoes. Do think that this trip to Oz will be as successful as the original?
